I thought that the reading was quite interesting. The study was very imformatative because it showed the comparison between 3 different schools and how all of the children reacted the same way to the lesson and once they learned new materials they wanted to explore them even further. Out of curiosity something I was thinking about was what if a child doesn't learn the same way? How would you encourage a child to be productive and join the group in participating in the group if they are not interested in it?
Maybe you could find out what interests the student and some how make a connection to combine his/her interest with whatever the group activity is to find a common ground.
ReplyDeleteI guess those would just be the students that need more attention. Most of the kids seemed really involved, so maybe it wouldn't be that difficult.
ReplyDeleteThere would have to be multiple teachers for field trips like these anyway.
I agree with Tommy and Joe; students like that would need more attention and teachers could find out why they are disinterested by asking them questions about their hobbies and interests, or maybe help them engage in the activity by pointing out aspects of the environment that they maybe haven't seen.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what's already been said, perhaps before deciding on the activity there can be a little discussion with the students to get them to talk about what their interests are and then you can work from there,
